DESCRIPTION OF THE EXCURSION
Halki island is an ideal way to spend your day in one of the most authentic Greek islands! On arrival, Halki will impress you with how traditional and authentic island it is. You should also know that Halki is characterized by UNESCO as “The island of Peace and Friendship”. You can walk around the traditional stone – paved alleys of Halki with the aristocratic mansions, swim at its crystal turquoise waters, or taste the local seafood delicacies.
We provide transfer from Evangelismos Church – Mandraki Port and drop off you to Kamiros Skala Port. During the short 45 minutes travel with a small Ferry boat you will have the opportunity to observe the panoramic rocky shoreline of west Rhodes, the Castle of Kritinia and the mountains so your travelling to Halki will seem like a breeze. Approaching Halki will appears a colorful settlement at the bottom of the surrounding hills. The colored 19th c. neoclassical amphitheatrically mansions, the three windmills at the far left, and the ruins of a Venetian fortress at the peak of one of the mountains will leave you breathless !
Nimborio which is the capital and the Harbor of the island is one of the most beautiful neoclassical settlements in Greece and an ideal place wander around since the absence of vehicles makes Halki a peaceful place to be! Walk around the little Port where all the fishermen leave their boats and spread their catch ! Don’t miss to visit Saint Nicolas church with the impressive black and white cobblestone and its Bell Tower, the imposing City Hall with its Clock Tower and the spectacular double staircase and of course the traditional House – Museum, if you wish to learn more about the lives of the people of this island.
You have plenty of free time so you can choose to walk approx. 500 m to the most popular beach Pondamos with fine white sand. The road to the right will lead you straight to the beach! It is organized with beach loungers and umbrellas and has a tavern with local delicacies. Or you can turn left, and walk through the colorful small houses and after approx. 500m reach the Ftenagia beach with its emerald waters and silhouette of Rhodes at the horizon. Few umbrellas are available and a gorgeous taverna for a cold drink and seafood.
Make sure to be on time for your return trip! We will be waiting for you at Kamiros Skala to take you back to the City!

Booking early (shortly before your arrival to Rhodes or soon upon your arrival) is recommended for tours during peak season (July, August, September).
Travellers visiting Rhodes for one day or with a very limited time frame should consider booking their tour as far in advance as possible.
We gladly accept last-minute reservations. You can pop into our office until 22:00 (in peak season you will find us there even until 23:00).
Our Booking Engine has live availability for reservations up to 12 hours before the departure on most of our tours.
But surely, to avoid any disappointment, especially during the peak season, it is recommended to check the availability & book your tour at least 3 days in advance.
If your preferred date is blocked out or you do not find it in the calendar, do not hesitate to reach out to us, we may be able to offer you an alternative.
At the moment, we operate only during the Summer Season (April to October). Some tours are also available in November.(Private Tours).
We believe that nowadays travellers are very experienced and truly know what type of activities they prefer. All our tour descriptions are very informative and detailed so that it is easy to understand if the activity suites your taste and interests. You should check if the tour has a pick up from your resort, if the tour provides enough free time on sights, if the tour has a tour guide, if there are any additional expenses that are not included in the price of the tour (food, tickets), what language is the tour (mostly for non-English speakers), are there swimming stops, and so on. We want our customers to be well informed about the service/ product they are about to purchase.
